Alert: No Renewal to Grant on Expired Residence Permit or Visa. (July 2, 2007)

Dear Clients,

We are writing to call your immediate attention that as of today, 2 July 2007,

• Residence Registration Certificate, prerequisite for Renewal of Visa, Residence Permit, or any other China travel documents,
are no longer accepted by the Public Security Bureau unless issued by hotels or property management offices registered in the
PSB computerized system,
• Such hotels are no longer checking-in guests holding expired visa, Residence Permit, or any other China travel documents
expiring in 24 hours;
• Neither shall property management offices nor police stations issue any Residence Registration Certificate for holders of
documents in the aforesaid status.

As a result, we shall not be able to represent clients holder the aforesaid documents at the Public Security Bureau in application for renewal of their China documentation.

We highly recommend that you arrange to have the aforesaid China documentation renewed in good time or in a minimum of five (5) workdays to avoid disruption of your business activities or other inconvenience this may cause.
