Mandatory Health Examination |
|
|
All foreigners (18
years and older) who come to China to work, study, or live for a year or
more are required to provide a valid certification of good health. If
you cannot provide a valid certification of good health, you must
undergo a health examination within one month of arriving in China. |
|
Out-Country Medical Examinations
As per the “PRC
Sanitation and Quarantine Law” and the implementation regulations of the
“PRC Immigration Control Law,” all persons at or over the age of 18
coming to China to live for a year or more must provide certification of
good health to receive a residence permit.
If you choose to have your health examination outside of China, please
note the following:
|
|
1. |
Upon completion of the examination, the hospital should provide a
report with an affixed picture of the patient, the signature of the
doctor performing the examination, and the hospital’s official stamp
(the patient’s picture should also be stamped). |
|
2. |
The report must include
height, weight, vision, blood pressure, and all other standard
examination items. It must also include tests for HIV and Syphilis along
with an ECG and a chest X-ray. |
|
3. |
The health report will
be valid for only 180 days from the date of its signature. |
Note: All foreigners bringing a health report into China will still have
to receive authorization from the local Entry-Exit Inspection and
Quarantine Bureau of the city in which they will reside. Those whose
overseas medical examinations are deemed acceptable will subsequently
receive proper certification from the Bureau.
